Weatherstone Flags
Each year I put out hundreds of American Flags in the Weatherstone Community. This year there are 700. I do this to show my support and appreciation for our Men and Women of our Armed Forces. That is why there is a prayer request attached to each flag.
Each year I get a lot of smiles and waves while some friends, a group of neighborhood children, and I sing and talk while we're putting the flags out. I have had a few people come talk with me and tell me how much they appreciate what I'm doing. I really enjoy meeting all of you. And of course, along with the happy emails I recieve, I've had a couple of emails tell me they don't like it for whatever reason. If you do not want the flag displayed in your yard, please give it to your neighbor or a friend that will enjoy it. More often than not, though, I get thanks rather than grief. All I can say is that it's the least I can do.
This year, with the economy the way it has been and people uncertain about so much in their lives, I feel it is my duty to show my support to our Armed Forces and their familes now more than ever. I also think that when you come into the neighborhood and see all the flags lining the streets, it gives people that 'warm fuzzy' feeling of pride and peace no matter what else is going on in the world. I enjoy that feeling alot... and I'm sure most of you do as well.
Please enjoy these American flags in your yards as my way of saying THANK YOU to all of you and your families who have, will, and continue to fight for our freedom. God bless each of you.
